xDSL

I have a wide selection of DSL modems that will work perfectly with any third party DSL internet provider in Ontario. That includes Acanac, eBox, Start, Teksavvy, and many others.

ADSL 2+

2wire 2701HG-B
price: $35 -- used, guaranteed for 1 year
The 2wire 2701HG-B is a ADSL 2+ modem with built in wireless-G router. Compatible with service up to 15mbit/s down and 1mbit/s up.

The 2wire is my favourite ADSL 2+ modem for compatibility with all types of Bell equipment in Ontario.

VDSL 2

CellPipe 7130 5Vz.A2001CAN
price: $65 -- brand new in box, guaranteed for 1 year
The CellPipe is a VDSL2 modem with built in N300 class wireless router. Only compatible with VDSL 2 service. That means packages that come with 10mbit/s upload speed (15mbit/s, 25mbit/s or 50mbit/s download speed).

Running the latest 1.0.4.4r8-wh firmware, the CellPipe works great. Many previous firmware versions had issues, so online reviews are mixed. With proper firmware, Cellpipe modems are a great cost saving choice.

Both VDSL 2 and ADSL 2+

SmartRG SR505n
price: $119.47+HST = $135 -- brand new in box, guaranteed for 1 year
The SmartRG SR505n is a ADSL 2+ and VDSL2 modem with built in N300 class wireless router. Compatible with all speeds of xDSL service, from 6mbit/s down 800kbit/s up to 50mbit/s down and 10mbit/s up.

A bit expensive, but the SmartRG is the standard for faster xDSL services. For widest compatibility and best support from all providers, the SmartRG is the way to go.
