xDSL

I have a wide selection of DSL modems that will work perfectly with any third party DSL internet provider in Ontario or Quebec. That includes Acanac, eBox, Start, Teksavvy, and many others.

Both VDSL 2 and ADSL 2+

SmartRG SR501
price: $70.80+HST = $80 -- brand new in box, guaranteed for 1 year
The SmartRG SR501 is a ADSL 2+ and VDSL2 modem only device. The only simple modem only device I know of on the market. Compatible with all speeds of xDSL service, up to 50mbit/s down and 10mbit/s up.

SmartRG SR505n
price: $100+HST = $113 -- brand new in box, guaranteed for 1 year
The SmartRG SR505n is a ADSL 2+ and VDSL2 modem with built in N300 class wireless router. Compatible with all speeds of xDSL service, up to 50mbit/s down and 10mbit/s up.

A bit expensive, but the SmartRG is the standard for faster xDSL services. For widest compatibility and best support from all providers, the SmartRG is the way to go.

VDSL 2 only

CellPipe 7130 5Vz.A2001CAN
price: $40 -- brand new in box, guaranteed for 1 year
The CellPipe is a VDSL2 modem with built in N300 class wireless router. Only compatible with VDSL 2 service. That means packages that come with 10mbit/s upload speed (15mbit/s, 25mbit/s or 50mbit/s download speed).

Running the latest 1.0.4.4r8-wh firmware, the CellPipe works great. Many previous firmware versions had issues, so online reviews are mixed. With proper firmware, Cellpipe modems are a great cost saving choice.

ADSL 2+

2wire 2701HG-B
price: $25 -- used, guaranteed for 1 year
The 2wire 2701HG-B is a ADSL 2+ modem with built in wireless-G router. Compatible with service up to 15mbit/s down and 1mbit/s up.

The 2wire is my favourite ADSL 2+ modem for compatibility with all types of Bell equipment in Ontario.
